Microsoft has announced a new feature phone under the Nokia brand – Nokia 222. The candy shaped phone can access the internet and it also has a Dual SIM variant dubbed the Nokia 222 Dual SIM.
The Nokia 222 (and Nokia 222 Dual SIM) is the successor to the Nokia 220 feature phone released last year. It sports a 2.4-inch (240 x 320 pixels) QVGA display resolution, Micro SIM slot(s), a rear facing Fixed Focus 2MP camera and up to 32GB additional storage via a micro SD card slot.
It comes with a built-in microphone, FM Radio, MP3 Player and the very popular LED torchlight it has been accustomed with. Connectivity option on the device includes Bluetooth with SLAM, micro USB, 3.5mm audio jack and 2.5G.
Measuring 116 x 50 x12.9mm in dimensions, the Nokia 222 weighs 79 grams and runs Nokia Series 30+ OS. It is backed by a 1100mAh battery provides up to 45 hours of Radio playback time, up to 50 hours of MP3 music playback time and over 20 hours of talk time.
Apps, games and services pre-loaded on the phone includes – Facebook, Bing Search, MSN Weather, Opera Mini, Twitter, GroupMe by Skype and either Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood or Midnight Pool 3. Users will also be able to download one free Gameloft game per month for a year.
Both the Nokia 222 and Nokia 222 Dual SIM are priced at $37 around N7500 in Naira (before tax and subsidies) in Black and White colour options.
